What does an AI visibility checker measure?
Three things: whether AI assistants name your brand when asked a category buying question, which competitors get named instead, and whether assistant crawlers such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, and ClaudeBot are allowed to fetch your pages. The last one is the most common hard blocker and the cheapest to fix.
Is this the same as a keyword rank checker?
No. A rank checker reports your position in a list of links. An assistant answer is one synthesized paragraph that names a few sources, so the question is binary per prompt: were you named or was someone else. This checker measures that share instead of a position.
